Meditation Practice and Dharma Talk
Love, Liberation, and Relational Holism: Waking up in a World on Fire

Are you concerned about climate change?
How does your spiritual practice influence your relationship to the environment?
This talk will draw on early and east Asian Buddhism to present an orientation towards awakening in a world literally and figuratively on fire with ecological, social, and political crises.
Taught by Karin Meyers, Ph.D. (The University of Chicago Divinity School)
Join us on Zoom for a meditation practice at 7:00 PM, followed by a dharma talk at 7:35.
There will be a short Q&A after the talk by Karin Meyers.
Suggested donation for evening is $8 – 20. Please donate according to your means.

Harmony in Speech - Nonviolent Communication

With Nonviolent Communication ( NVC) we learn to hear our own deeper needs and those of others. Through its emphasis on deep listening—to ourselves as well as others—NVC helps us discover the depth of our own compassion.
This language reveals the awareness that all human beings are only trying to honor universal values and needs.
Class will include discussion, practice and home readings. Based on the work of Marshall Rosenberg.
Taught by Sharon Rudnitzky
Suggested donation for 6 week class series is $90. Please donate according to your means. If you are able to donate more, this allows others with less means to attend.

April 21 – Meditation and Dharma talk
The program varies from week to week, but will always include meditation.
1. Qi gong or Thai hand meditation instructions given at 7:00. Optional movement practice of your choice. Followed by meditation for 45 minutes.
2. Meditation from 7:00 until 7:30, followed by a dharma talk.
3. Meditation from 7:00 until 7:30 followed by a closed class.
All are welcome to join the meditation program. Please attend a basic meditation class if you plan to attend regularly.
If attending in person, arrive by 6:45 to help with dharma tasks – mindful practice to build community together.

Beginners/Beginner's mind class
Monday, February 14 to March 21
6:45 to 8:45 PM, In person and Zoom
This six-week course will include basic Buddhist teachings on mindfulness and meditation. Neuroscience techniques to make meditation easier will be emphasized.
Learn about and practice body meditations, mindfulness, loving kindness, and learn how to collect the mind. We will offer an overview of the Buddha’s teachings as a way to bring our practice into our daily lives.
Suitable for beginners and those who wish to “begin again”.
Taught by Kim Weeber, founding teacher.
